Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist (EMEs) represent and serve the unity of the Mystical Body of Christ, the Church, by assisting the priests and deacons in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and/or to the sick and homebound.
EMEs assist with the distribution of Holy Communion during the Mass and at special liturgies. Ministers also carry the Eucharist to the sick, homebound or hospitalized. It is required that all Eucharistic Ministers be properly instructed to carry out this sacred duty. Ministers are scheduled as needed for the Mass time(s) of their choice.
