“In Baptism, the Holy Spirit moves us to answer Christ’s call to holiness. In Baptism, we are asked to walk by the light of Christ and to trust in his wisdom. We are invited to submit our hearts to Christ with ever deeper love.” from The United States Catholic Catechism for Adults

For all of us, our journey of faith begins with the Sacrament of Baptism. Baptism forms the basis for Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other Sacraments. To present a child for Baptism is a serious obligation and requires a faith commitment on the part of the parents and godparents.

This commitment is exemplified by being practicing, active Catholics for at least six (6) months at Mary, Queen of Heaven Parish. If you have just moved into the parish, a letter from your previous paster verifying the same is acceptable.

Attendance at a baptismal preparation class is required. Arrangements for the class date and the Baptism date are to be made at the Parish Office, (904) 777-3168, and/or with the Baptism Coordinator.
